Progress with Purpose
I believe Boulder works best when we focus on what really matters: strong city services, thoughtful planning, and decisions that reflect the needs of the people who live here.
That starts with taking care of the basics. We need to invest in reliable infrastructure, keep our communities safe, and stay on track with our climate goals. That includes better wildfire preparedness, clean energy policies, and making sure these efforts reach every part of the city.
I want to see a local government that listens closely, communicates clearly, and follows through. Good ideas can come from anywhere. The key is being open, collaborative, and focused on results.
Boulder’s economy should be both resilient and inclusive. With experience in both small business and the corporate world, I understand the importance of supporting local innovation while also protecting the character and identity that make Boulder unique. The update to the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan is an opportunity to make smart, long-term choices.
This is about keeping Boulder a place where people can live, work, and feel connected. Now and in the future.
About me
I’m Jenny Robins, a working mom, a Boulder resident, and someone who believes deeply in showing up for her community.
For years, I’ve been actively involved in Boulder’s civic life. I chair the City of Boulder Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, serve on the board of the Play Boulder Foundation, and co-chair the Boulder Chamber’s Community Affairs Council. These roles have given me a front-row seat to how decisions get made in our city, and more importantly, how they impact people’s daily lives.
My husband Chris and I are raising two teenage daughters in Gunbarrel. Like many families here, we’ve experienced both the beauty and the challenges of living in Boulder. I know what it feels like to balance work, parenting, and community involvement while navigating issues like housing affordability, school pressures, and the rising cost of living.
Professionally, I’ve worked in both the nonprofit and private sectors. I’ve led programs, built partnerships, and managed budgets. I understand how to bring people together, how to listen, and how to turn a good idea into something real. My approach to public service is collaborative, practical, and always rooted in doing what’s best for Boulder.
In 2025, I am honored to be endorsed by State Senator Judy Amabile, former Colorado House Speaker and environmental leader KC Becker, RTD Board Member Chris Nicholson, CU Regent Elliot Hood, and BVSD Board of Education Members Lalenia Quinlan Aweida and Jason Unger, among others.
I have also earned the support of current Boulder Councilmembers Tina Marquis, Tara Winer, and Mark Wallach, former Councilmembers Bob Yates, Rachel Friend, and Crystal Gray and former Mayors Sam Weaver and Susan Osborne.
My Focus
Governance
Effective governance is vital for community progress. It requires transparency, accountability, ethical leadership, citizen empowerment, data-driven decision making, collaboration, and partnerships. We must promote open and accountable practices, engage citizens in decision-making, and empower diverse voices.
Economic Vitality
Creating economic vitality in Boulder requires a community-oriented approach. Nurturing innovation is essential, including supporting businesses with affordable spaces and mentorship. Permitting and use reform is a crucial component to alleviate procedural hurdles and allow business to get up and running more efficiently.
Housing
Thoughtful and inclusive growth is essential. I support strategic zoning reforms to allow slightly higher densities and gentle infill in specific areas, prioritizing affordable housing. It is crucial to involve residents, local organizations, and stakeholders in decision-making processes.
Youth Support
Many young people feel neglected as they age out of programs and have limited leadership opportunities. The city must provide support, create hope and positive environments and establish safe spaces with wrap-around services. This will allow our children to socialize and reduce stigmas around mental health and embrace gender and sexual diversity.
Environment
My commitment to environmental values includes preserving air quality, reducing waste, and embracing renewable energy like solar power. To address these pressing issues, it is crucial to protect wildlife habitats, advocate for sustainable practices in agriculture and transportation, and prioritize scientific research and education.
Arts
The art scene in Boulder is vibrant and diverse, reflecting the city's creative spirit. Art appreciation instills a lifelong love for beauty and culture, broadening horizons and encouraging participation in the community. For children, art provides a safe and non-verbal outlet to process their emotions, understand themselves better, and build resilience.
Unhomed
The issues our community faces include homelessness exceeding available resources, high utilization rates, and a shortage of mental health and substance abuse treatment options at the county and state level. Public safety is crucial, especially for the vulnerable unhomed population.
Public Safety
Ensuring the safety of residents and visitors alike requires an approach that involves cooperation between law enforcement agencies, local government, community organizations, and individual citizens. My focus includes community policing strategies, mental health support, natural disaster preparedness, traffic safety, and promoting a pedestrian and bike-friendly environment.
